im looking for a a good mesmer build that will work well with the standard sabways 3 necro heros.

probably something with VoR in it, but you can better go discord and take assasins prommise with you move like a dwarf and a conjure phantasm or something

With Sabway you can do anything you like... It's a machine on it's own... Just take a wand and an empty skill bar and you can own with it...

I find that a clumsiness / wandering eye illusion build is alot of fun... add in sig of illusions and you can use other spells without speccing into them

A Mesmer should never go physical so Sabway won't help it much. It would be better if you run an Assassin's Promise build with Discordway, which is more caster oriented.

Here's basically what I use... I went with discord heroes instead of sabway, but the same idea applies.

go Mes/Necro with Discord and and use Discordway heroes

Mesmer is bad for Sabway because as others have said it isnt a Physical class.

First up, your best bet is to ignore those above claiming that sabway is inferior because you aren't playing a physical. Sabway is incredibly similar to discordway, basically you swap out elite skills and the only differences are variants anyway. Discord tends to spike down individual targets very quickly, while Sabway tends to be slightly slower on individual kills in favor of more overall pressure.

Now, on the actual topic...

As to what you could run on a mesmer, probably [Visions of Regret] or [ineptitude] are your best elite bet. Throw in [Ebon battle standard of wisdom] for excellent party support also.

Empathy, Backfire, and Wastrel's worry are all very staple on a VoR bar, include Cry of Pain for utility and big damage. For Ineptitude bars [Clumsiness] and [Wandering Eye] are both decent choices.

Some sort of energy management would be ideal also. [Power Drain] or [Glyph of lesser energy] are both good choices.

[Aegis] or even wards are a valuable support tool for your party, and mesmers are also an excellent character to put a hard res skill onto. I would suggest Flesh of my Flesh, or Death Pact Sig if you're confident with it.

Sabway to me is abuse of soul reaping to let a necro character spam low energy fast recharge heal skills. Team consisting of a Minion Master a Resto and a Curses All having Resto heal skills with enough [mend body and soul] to keep you going and going like an energizer bunny. Don’t get me wrong you will have a lot of damage done from the minions exploding and the hexes sent out. But the real deal is the heal power of it.

Ok that’s my opinion of it.

[cry of pain] PVE selected for you.
PVE of your choice (vanguard assassins, wards, dwarf weapon etc... they all are uber)
[power drain] or [auspicious incantation]

[Dwayna's Sorrow] cast before agro
[remove hex] or [cure hex]

Basic but effective

Still like sabway but it does abuse the system alittle

Infinite energy and you can empathy/pain inverter/backfire every target you attack. Only fails when you mess up with assassin's promise, things should die pretty much as soon as assassin's promise hits with finish him. Also works better in hard mode than in normal mode since everything attacks faster.

As previously noted, the 3 necro hero team (Sabway, Discordway, Self make-ways and etc), will do all the work for you even if you bring an empty skill bar in NM.

Try SoI if you have not max any PvE skill title and start having fun with your necros.
Some call SoI as gimmick. It is probably they want SoI to be nerfed and won't last forever in the current form and hence 'gimmick'.

Go Me/RT for fun with Attrib 16 SoI Splinter Weapon (and other weapons spells if you want to try) and fast cast. Cast yourself and your melee henchie with Weapon spells and start hacking the foes together with minions with plenty of damage (not advisable to consider yourself as an invincible tank in HM lol). Clumsiness and wandering eye always do the job well. Drain Enchanment, energy tap and power spike are good choice.

Go Me/A for the AP and PvE only skills combo with fast recharge and energy gain bonus. It is good fun.

Go Me/Mo with SoI Scouge Healing for areas that have stong healers. Go Domination if you want.

Go Me/E for areas with clumping foes. Fast cast wil unload enough damage before the foes decided to scatter. It is advisable to use 5 seconds max AOEs skill only. The elementalist AOEs however are not too effective in HM. Energy management is not a problem here. Clumsiness and Wandering eyes would do as much damage as AOEs.

Ummm if you're a mesmer, you'd want to go Discordway.
